Would you like to have an Americorps VIP serve at your Organization?

Info. Session May 31st- 2PM Volunteer Center
The Volunteer Center is excited to again partner with Calserves to train and place 10 Americorps members to serve for one year as Volunteer Coordinators at fellow non-profits in Santa Cruz County. We are currently looking for additional agencies to participate in this year’s Volunteer Infrastructure Program (VIP). Now approaching our third year of VIP, we will introduce a new group of fellows into the community in August.
Having an Americorps VIP Fellow at your organization can produce numerous benefits. Organizations that have previously hosted a VIP fellow have identified results in the following areas:
- Increased Volunteer Recruitment and Retention
- Better Assessments of the Organization’s Volunteer Needs and Capabilities
- Sustainable Volunteer-Run Programs and Events
- Increased Community Visibility
An Application is requested from all interested organizations.
Applications are due no later than Thursday, May 26th .
Program Requirements: We ask that organization’s carefully consider their capacity for incorporating an Americorps member into their organization as a Volunteer Coordinator.
- Members assignments will be based on an organization’s ability to support their Americorps member professionally and financially.
- Organizations will be asked to provide a cash match of $10,000 for a full-time member for one year of service.
- Partnering organizations will be required to send one representative to attend a Supervisor Training to be held in June. Date and location TBA
This year, our 10 members have recruited, trained and managed volunteers who have generated over $300,000 worth of volunteer labor for their organizations.
