Upcoming Tutor Orientations and Trainings

An Adult English Learner Needs YOU!

The Literacy Program would like to invite all interested individuals to a free one hour orientation to learn about becoming a tutor to a motivated adult English language learner.  No teaching or foreign language skills are required. Join program staff for an informative session to determine if this is the right volunteer opportunity for you.

ORIENTATION DATES (only need to attend ONE):
Monday, December 12th, 6 p.m.        Saturday, January 14th, 10 a.m.
Monday, January 9th, 6 p.m.              Saturday, January 28th, 10 a.m.
Monday, January 23rd, 6 p.m.
Monday, January 30th, 6 p.m.

Ready to Commit ???

  • Call the Literacy Program office at 831- 427-5077
  • Attend the mandatory one (1) hour Orientation
  • Sign up for the Tutor Training Series- 14 hours worth of focused training to give you the tools and techniques you need for tutoring success.

*****There is a ONE TIME $45 Materials Fee.

TUTOR TRAINING: Training will be held in February.  Daytime or evening session TBA.

    I would love to have more information on this and to sign up for an orientation. Do these tutoring sessions occur in someone’s home or is there a classroom? The only hesitation I would have would be going into a strange home. If you would please respond to that particular question, I will then sign up for the orientation.
