Each team consists of three members with the team captain sitting in the middle and acting as spokesperson.- There is no use of books or electronic devices such as cell phones or laptops.
- Do not shout out answers and keep team discussions hushed.
- There are three rounds: Qualifying, Semi‐Final and Final. If there is a tie for finalists in first, second or third place, there will be Sudden Death to break the tie.
- Before each round, you will be told how many seconds you have to respond to each question in that round. Your team’s final response should be written and circled by your team captain.
- Following each answer, a Reviewer will check your answer. The circled answer will be the only one considered. If there are questions or issues on the part of the team members or the Reviewers, the Reviewers will consult with the Judges who will make the final decisions.
- One point is given for each correct answer. There are no penalties for wrong answers. Each new round starts at zero.
- The Qualifying Round consists of 30 questions. When all 30 questions have been asked, the 15 teams with the highest scores or the top 50% of the teams (whichever includes the most teams) will compete in the Semi‐Final Round.
- The Semi‐Final Round consists of 20 questions. When all 20 questions have been asked, the 7 teams with the highest scores or the top 50% of the teams (whichever includes the most teams) will compete in the Final Round.
- The Final Round consists of 15 questions. When all 15 questions have been asked, the 3 teams with the highest scores will become the first, second and third place Trivia Challenge winners. If there are ties in first, second or third places, there will be Sudden Death to determine the top three winners.
