Our Youth Program Junior Volunteers has teamed up with GroupOn Grassroots, the philanthropic arm of GroupOn, to reward teens who do good in our local community.
This year, the Volunteer Center has mobilized 25 Teen Fellows to participate in the Junior Volunteers Program, a six week service learning, job readiness, and college prep program.
Teens have the opportunity to discover their passion, gain new skills, and contribute their talents to community organizations in need of support.
Summer fellows will provide 1500 hours of service tackling community issues. They may engage grade schoolers in science exploration, feed the hungry, or socialize with needy animals.
Throughout the summer, their good work will be rewarded with fun and educational field trips.
We are pleased to announce that GroupOn has stepped up to help us our extend our field trip budget, but we can’t do it without your support.
Here’s the Deal- If 50 people pledge just $10 we can award our fellows with a trip to the San Jose Tech Museum. But don’t stop there! Every dollar after that up to $1000 goes to an additional trip for next year’s fellows. We have just one week to make it happen from June 25-July 1.
