Volunteer Recognition Party- Weds April 22 5:30-8PM @ the Volunteer Center- Each year in honor of National Volunteer Week we take the opportunity to celebrate the individuals who dedicate themselves to one of our 18 programs. They are the backbone of our success and critical to our ability to serve our community. All program and community volunteers are invited to join us for mingling, awards, appetizers, music, and raffle prizes. Call 831-427-5070 to RSVP.
YouthServe Summer Service Institute- South County area teens grades 8-11 are invited to apply for this free six week service learning program. Teens will have the opportunity to attend fun field trips, meet new friends and give back to the community. It is an excellent way to build skills for a future job or college application. Literacy Program Benefit at Tramonti Restaurant- April 22- Dine out for a good cause with Literacy Program staff, tutors and friends. 15% of the proceeds from your meal will go towards supporting literacy education for adults learners. The offer is available during all open hours (Noon-9:30PM) for dining in or ordering take out. Be sure to let them know you want to support the literacy program when ordering. Senior Make a Wish Day of Service- May 2nd - Give your time for the 20th annual one day blitz to help struggling seniors. Give a few hours to assist low-income senior home owners with small household tasks- including assistance with computers, leaky faucets, changing a light bulb or installing a grab bar. Human Race Walkathon and Fun Run May 9, 2015- Pow-ZAP- Kaboom- The capes are ready to fly for the 2015 Human Race. Our superhero- themed race will be one for the record books as we celebrate our 35th year hosting the Human Race in Santa Cruz County. There’s still plenty of time to create a team and raise money for your cause or join in the fun as a participant on the day of. Learn More
Project Homeless Connect at the Kaiser Arena MAY 12- Volunteer for this one day blitz of services for homeless individuals. Volunteers will assist clients in navigating the range of services available from housing support to quality of life resources. 300 volunteers are needed to make this event possible! Senior Tech Days – YouthSERVE and our senior centers are back in action to help local seniors increase their skills with technology, social media, and digital devices. Seniors are invited to drop-in at monthly workshops in Santa Cruz or Watsonville to access new technology skills for connecting with family and friends. View Dates and Learn More

Friends Outside Volunteer Orientation- 1st Tuesday of Every Month @ 10AM- Join Friends Outside staff at the Volunteer Center to learn how you can help individuals and families in the transition from incarceration to back to the community.
