The Volunteer Center is here to support youth who want to engage their community through service. Our aim is to provide meaningful volunteer opportunities to area youth with a passion to help those in need. Our youth program offers three ways to get involved:
- YouthSERVE – for continued service on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis Click here for current YouthSERVE events
- Junior Volunteers - a summer intensive program designed to help students complete community service requirements of many local curricula
- Youth Mobilization – to find a variety of opportunities with other trusted community organizations
The Santa Cruz Volunteer Center values community service as an educational experience. We are firmly committed to providing evidence-based service learning opportunities to Santa Cruz youth and believe that the lessons learned while volunteering do not end with the day of service. We educate our youth volunteers on the social problems they are working to alleviate, allow them to experience those problems first-hand through direct service, and allow them to reflect on the issues that create, influence and solve these problems.
We hope you’ll contact us whether you have an hour to give or would like to dedicate a year to bettering your community. There’s work to do and we can’t do it without you!
